INTERPRETER SERVICES

The Social Services Department manages the Interpreter program which provides Spanish/English interpretive services for the limited English proficiency patients throughout the hospital.

Interpreters are available in-house seven (7) days a week from 6 am to 10:30 pm and are on call from 10:30 pm to 6 am. The interpreter staff are certified nurse’s aides and can provide care to patients in the facility when they are not called upon to interpret.

Interpreter services can be obtained by paging 882-7568 (days) and 882-7569 (evenings) or on call by paging 786-1945 (nights). The Interpreter will require the patient’s name, the name of the individual requesting service, and what department to report to.

Staff will document the interpreter's name on the patient’s record and acknowledge that an interpreter was provided. Interpreters are also responsible for record keeping.
